What is their support like?
It is extremely good. Normally, I would ring a support team or use the live chat, and sit waiting for about 15 minutes before I connect to someone, then wait 5 minutes between each time they reply. They also only get trained to answer the FAQ questions (which I have already looked at), and then I get passed on to a higher-trained person until someone can answer my problem (if anyone in the company seems to be able to).
HostGator is different. I can start chatting on Live Chat straight away, and only have to fill in my name to start, not 5 different questions. Just today setting up this website there was an Internal Server error. Although I managed to fix it myself, the support person was going to get the tech team to take a look straight away.
When my error pages wern’t working (part of cPanel that HostGator includes in their price), I contacted the support team and they told me how to fix it within 2 minutes.
This is what you want from a host!
How much did I pay again? $0.01. This will last AT LEAST 1 month, but sometimes HostGator don’t even ask for payment for 2-3 months.
Not bad… and next month I’ll pay under $10.
