10 ways on How to make money blogging

So how is it possible to making money writing free information for others?

1. Website Advertising - Advertising is the best way of making money. Even though people are actually being linked away from the website, every time they are clicked the owner makes money. In order words, if you get someone to go on someone else’s website - they pay you! Hopefully the user might return to your website at a later date, and maybe click a different ad!

The more people that come on your website, the more money you make!

There are many advertising companies that will get advertisers for you. If you are putting adverts on your website you are the publisher, and if you are putting adverts on someone else’s site you are the advertiser. It is very hard to find people who will put adverts on your website, especially if it has recently been created, although these websites get advertisers for the publishers (although take a little bit of the money the advertisers pay as a fee). Here is a list of very well known advertising companies:

There are many other advertising companies although Google Adsense is one that I would like to look into. If you want to read a post on this, please look at the Google Adsense review post.

Although I go into detail about Google Adsense on that post, I would like to point out that it is the best by far because it scans your page and displays ads that are relevant to your content. Also most of the advertisers pay more because they know that the people who click on their links will be searching for what they have to offer (because of the point above).

Also, another ad company is BlogAds which is the first advertising company just for blogs.

2. RSS Feed Advertising - Although this is yet to be an area of money making ideas, it has not yet grown to make as much profit as website advertising as it is a newly developed idea. It will continue to be developed and in the future will probably be more profitable.

3. Sponsorship - If you have created a blog in a specific niche, then companies related to the niche will pay high amounts of money to advertising space and links to their products. This is called sponsorship. It is like Website Advertising although you make more money as it isn’t Pay Per Click (PPC), instead they pay you each month for the space on your website.

4. Affiliate Programs - This is where companies/people pay you to sell their product. They keep the money, although will pay you a percentage of the product price/profit. Normally large companies like Commission Junction (who stole the domain I wanted :-P) and Amazon will pay large amount of money, although there are tonnes of companies who will pay smaller amounts for less known products.

The company that brings eBook affiliates together with product sellers is Clickbank.

5. Digital Assets - These are items that you buy online. They include eBooks like I was saying above, information products, but can also relate to real life items that are related to your niche.

6. Blog Network Opportunities - People PAY YOU to post in their blog. This is because they make tonnes of money, up to 6 figure incomes. Normally this involves multiple blogs and therefore it is hard for them to continually update them. (If they don’t update them then they will not make any money from them). You can also get paid to post in your own blog by companies such as PayPerPost (PPP) and Smorty. Although I do recommend you starting up your own website, it will make more money.

7. Donations - Donation buttons generate a substantial amount of revenue. When it comes to useful information people have money to throw away and donate sums of up to $100 or more! People even donate regularly and thanks to PayPal’sdonation buttons, it’s simple to do donations and recurring donations! The biggest and most well known donation funded website is Jason Kottke’s kottke.org who quit his job and became a full time blogger because of the donations!

8. Flipping Blogs - Otherwise known as ‘buying/creating and selling blogs’. I won’t go into any detail becuase this is a massive section on it’s own.

9. Merchandising - The usual stuff you buy like T-shirts and mugs sell extremely well when it comes down to dedicated readers. A massive company who specializes in merchandise items is Cafepress. Big blogs can make thousands of dollars with merchandise, although smaller blogs have a big change of success too.

10. Creating eBooks - Writing information products in the niche you know well because of blogging opens up a massive tunnel for success. If your website is popular then you can write minute details and information you havn’t released on your blog yet and sell it for a small price of $10-20. You can do special bonuses for those who are signed up to your newsletter/blog, which is a great source of income. The best part about this it is totally free, so Gross profit = Net profit! One of the only businesses to have this feature! No investment needed! Read more on how to create eBooks for free in the make money with eBooks category of the blog.

Once you have opened 1 blog and started posting, if you see traffic, that’s great! Sometimes it is best to wait for a few months before you put advertising on your website. Another great idea is to start multiple blogs even if your first one isn’t too successful… you never know, it might just be a dying niche!
